The team opened the season with a 111-75 win over Elmhurst York. With everyone swimming much improved times over last year, many athletes contributed to the win. Returning All-Americans junior Will Schaffer (100 free, 200 free) and senior Matt Quigley (100 breast, 200 IM) each won 2 individual events and swam on 2 winning relays. Divers Jason Stelzer and Tristan Oleynik finished 1-2 and both broke the old school record for 6 dives.

Other winners included Keith Conrad (500 free), Rob Donisch (100 back), the 200 medley relay (Donisch, Quigley, Chris Wayne, Jason Maddux), the 200 free relay (Schaffer, Quigley, Dave Flinner, Maddux), and the 400 free relay (Donisch, Conrad, Flinner, Schaffer).
